Singing Lessons (30 & 60mins) $100-$200 We understand that singers want to perform. That's why our emphasis in singing lessons is performance prep. We have 3 tracks: Performance Readiness, Music Ed (for younger students), and Technique Building. The Performance Readiness track is for those who are coming in performance ready, with not a lot of technique work required. These singers, though always working on their skills, are learning songs, auditioning, and performing regularly. You will build your repertoire and be polishing it so it is performance ready. C'est La Vie wants to help you in your career by providing performance opportunities and connecting you with the right people to launch you. This also includes instruction on how to market yourself as an artist.
The Music Education track is primarily for the elementary age student who is not performing or auditioning. This student is usually pre-pubescent and is still going through a lot of changes physiologically. This student will be learning how to sight read, solfeggio, age-appropriate vocal technique, and using various instruments to demonstrate their skills. All of this culminates in learning their solo songs. This student will perform at recitals. These students are required to buy "Sing At First Sight" by Andy Beck
The Technique Building track is for the student is has never had voice lessons or someone who is simply wanting to learn to sing. The goal is to learn to sing confidently and eventually perform.
In every track, you will learn posture, correct breathing techniques, vocal tract physiology, how to produce a healthy tone that's on pitch, how to read music, score analysis, how to interpret music, and more. Your teacher will assign you music and the student is also welcome to bring any repertoire they are working on. A lesson is typically split into 2-3 sections: Warm-up, Music Theory, and Repertoire work. You will work on repertoire ranging from pop to opera! Students must be 8 or older, though we rarely turn people away based on age. Please contact us if your child is under 8 so we can determine where to place him or her.
